Students are not permitted to stay after the Testing Room is closed for business, so students should plan to arrive at least two hours prior to closing.
(Students should arrive early to insure they have enough time to sign-in and to allow time for the test proctor to verify the exam has been completed correctly upon submission.)
Learning Lab Policies and Procedures for Online Testing
- The Learning Lab testing room is available to administer face-to-face and computer-based examinations on behalf of instructors who are teaching online or partially online courses ONLY.
- Exams will only be given when a testing monitor can be present in the testing room to proctor the exam. Instructors will be notified if no proctor is available for an exam date so that other arrangements can be made. Students should check the Online Testing Schedule below prior to coming to take a test to make sure there has been no cancellation.
- The Lab’s facilities are NOT available for make-up exams. If an instructor decides to allow a student to make up a test, s/he is responsible for administering and proctoring that test.
- Students must provide both a valid photo ID (i.e., driver's licence or passport) and HFCC student ID in exchange for the exam.
- With each exam, instructors must provide the WebAdvisor class roster listing student IDs and all necessary instructions, such as if students are permitted to use notes, calculators, etc. Instructors, due to limited available seating, please schedule your exams to start on Saturday and end on Friday to best accommodate students and staff.
- Due to security concerns, the Lab will no longer accept hard copies of exams. Instead, all exams should be submitted in digital format – along with proctoring instructions, dates for the exam and class lists – to the following email: LLabTesting@hfcc.edu
- These materials will then be stored on the Learning Lab’s secure folder on the College’s G:\ drive and forms will be printed only as needed.
- Consistent with previous practice, instructors assigning digitally-submitted exams will receive those exams as students complete them.
- To improve security, all completed hard-copy exams will now be maintained in a locked cabinet upon student submission. These exams will be available for pick-up by the assigning instructor at his/her convenience – daily, weekly or whenever is deemed appropriate by the instructor. They will be maintained, however, under lock and key until the instructor retrieves them from the Lab.
